Please attend tonights HOA meeting

This is a call to all Copper Canyon residents to get involved in our community by attending HOA meeting and getting involved in Neighborhood watch. The HOA meetings are held to allow residents the opportunity to express their views and solutions for handling pertinent issues in our community. They are not 'bitch' sessions. Our HOA board members volunteer their time and work hard to do what is best for our community. They need our support, not our criticism. We will be facing many more issues within our community due to the economic slow down and increase in foreclosures. Now is the time to get involved to protect our community and our property values. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Get involved.

Neighborhood Watch Contact

To know more about Neighborhood Watch contact Lou and Eileen Proveys@msn.com

Neighborhood Watch

Communication is key to effectively addressing crime. Thank you for creating this blog for neighbors to be connected with other neighbors. I want to let the Copper Canyon residence know that there is a Neighborhood Watch program being built up through out the whole community. At this time there is 37 Block Captains in place. If you have not been contacted by your Captain yet feel free to e-mail me and I will let you know watch captain is on your block. Last week a meeting was held with all Neighborhood Block Captains , Police Chief Hughes, Sgt. Ortega, Sgt. Mueller, and Our City council member John Williams. Many issues and concerns were addressed. The officers gave us valuable information on how to help ourselves. Police Chief Hughes assured us that there are several behind the scenes investigations going on. I encourage you to be connected, join your Neighborhood Watch. As your neighbor we look forward to building a safe and friendly place to live, Surprise Arizona!

Recent Burglaries

These burglaries are unsettling, by my estimation this house is across the way from my house."A woman living in the 14400 block of Shaw Butte Drive reported she was awakened about 4:30 a.m. and was startled to see a man running from her room and fleeing the house, said Sgt. Mark Ortega, a Surprise police spokesman. "

We have a 2 Surprise PD officers, a husband and wife, who live on Desert Cove who live very near one of the burglaries:

"Burglars made off with wallets and purses containing cash and credit cards.
The homes were located in the 14100 block of West 135th Drive, the 13500 block of West Hearn Road and the 13600 block of West Ventura Street.
Similar situations happened to two families living in the Copper Canyon community, Ortega said. Both residences awoke early Sunday morning to find that their jewelry, cash and electronics had been stolen. These happened in the 14300 block of West Becker and the 14200 block of West Desert Cove Road.

Open Forum for our neighborhood

Due to recent concerns I have regarding censorship and information, I created this blog spot to keep ourselves informed on activities throughout our neighborhood and to avoid editing by HOA webmaster.

If you post here, please include at least some minimal information so we can avoid anonymous postings.

Thank you,
Colleen
